So far we've had a first look at Superman's new suit , and also some pictures taken from the set of Man of Steel. However those were taken from a distance and were a bit blurred. Now, Rama's Screen has provided more close-up pictures, and we can finally see the detailing on the suit.
Notice the silver patterns on his wrist, at the waist area and down his legs. I suppose these patterns are supposed to make the suit look more kryptonian and alien, rather than it being just blue spandex. And we can also see that there definitely isn't a belt, though the silver motifs give the illusion of one being there. I think that's perfectly fine, after all Superman only needed his belt to hold up his red undies. And since he doesn't wear them anymore, there's no need for a belt now!
Previously when I had seen those first few set photos, I did notice that his wrists looked awfully shiny, like he was wearing Wonder Woman-like gauntlets. But I thought that was just some reflection of sunlight off the suit. Cos I didn't remember there being any gauntlets in the first official picture that was released.
Then after seeing the photos from Rama's Screen, I went back to the initial photo again and realised that the silvery patterns were there all along! I had mistaken them for the folding of the material at his wrists! And now I could also see that the pattern was partially visible on his leg.
Did anyone notice the patterns on his suit in the very first picture? They really did hide it very well, if that was even their intention.
